It has been noticed that third party extension are no longer working with Google Chrome Browser. We have a new way in order to install Download Assistant to your Google Chrome Browser.
This action has been manly implemented to rescue user's from malicious extensions that can compromise privacy. But you can still enjoy and integrate third party extension directly to Chrome using a simple step mentioned below.
1) Download the Chrome Extension "Download Assistant" from Here .
2) Now after the download is complete you will see a pop up that says " Extensions, apps, and user scripts cannot be installed from this web site ".
3) Click OK.
4) After this open a new chrome browser window and in the address bar paste the following without quotes "chrome://chrome/extensions/". This will invoke the extension area in Chrome browser. This is just a alternate way, you can also head towards the extension page using the settings option available near the address bar. [Settings -> Tools -> Extensions]
5) All you have to do is just drag and drop the extension you downloaded earlier. Drop the extension into the chrome window open with extensions page.

8) Configure the extension to take up downloads directly using IDM as the default download manager.
9) Again go to the extensions area for Google Chrome where you will be able to see the extension installed. Select options and set the IDM as your default download manager for chrome.
